The primary goal of the Ekka is to celebrate and show how agriculture plays an essential role in our everyday lives. Agriculture is a vital part of what keeps this country running and will be well into the future.
The show has been running since 1876 and has gone from 17,000 visitors in its first year, to a whopping average of 400,000 visitors and it’s not hard to see why. With all the incredible things to see and do, it was entertainment galore with carnival rides, live music and performances, animals, food and wine, educational activities and shopping, plus so much more on offer. Test your skills with one of the many competitions available. Have you grown the biggest tomato? Are you an artist? Perhaps an amazing singer? Or maybe the dagwood dog eating competition is more to your taste? No matter where your interests lie, there is something for everyone.

This year we were privileged to supply all things animals for the Ekka. Over 15 early mornings we delivered over 30 loads of hay, horse food, wood shavings and bedding for the animals that were attending this incredible event. The animals are a large part of what makes the Ekka the Ekka. With over 10,000 animals attending this year, from horses and cows down to the smallest furry friends, it is a great opportunity for the community of Brisbane to see a side of life that many people in the city have little experience with.
